The Project: To visually align the two hospital brands (Hotel Dieu Hospital and Kingston General Hospital) under the new legal name Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC).

Background: Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) is Southeastern Ontario’s largest acute-care academic hospital. Consisting of the Hotel Dieu Hospital site and Kingston General Hospital site, as well as the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario and two research institutes, they care for more than 500,000 patients and families from across their region.
Solution: Hotel Dieu Hospital brand was modernized, while keeping the elements and colours that were important. All caps were removed to aid in legibility, and the logo mark was simplified. A bilingual version of the KGH logo was created. A common font and colour palette was adopted by both organizations to help tie them together. BmDodo created a simple word mark for Kingston Health Sciences.

Above: The indigo colour is a mixture of Hotel Dieu burgundy and KGH blue, representing the merging of the hospitals.
