The Project: Create a fresh corporate identity that takes into account accessibility best practices with regards to typography and colours, as well as technical design requirements for legibility and scalability. Create an identity that is unique, memorable, and visually represents the desired brand attributes and values of Tri-board.
Background: Tri-board provides safe, secure, efficient transportation for students to and from school within their jurisdiction. Their jurisdiction includes the area from Kingston to Trenton (east-west) and Madawaska to Prince Edward County (north-south). Tri-board is responsible for all bus transportation communications which includes answering inquiries and complaints from parents, notification of delays and cancellations due to inclement weather, and providing data for school boards to inform school closers and/or transferring students to other schools. Tri-board is also responsible for bus safety awareness including safety training for students, bus patroller training, public safety and traffic advice. Tri-board itself doesn’t own any buses. They manage bus companies in the service area for all three school boards (Limestone District School Board, Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board, and Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board)
The Solution: The Tri-board logomark consists of three “routes” (symbolizing the school boards) connecting together to create the shape of a stylized “t” and “b”.
